Why is my hall empty? The data the control room needs
The control room only shows what orders, master data, timers and the time clock already contain. A checklist of prerequisites and a table: what is missing, and why.
This feature is only included in the Premium plan. Compare plans
The control room makes nothing up. It shows what Gantway already records: orders and their positions, the stations and slots from the master data, running timers and the time clock. If a piece of information is missing there, it is missing in the hall too.
Checklist: what the hall needs
- A saved floor plan. If the hall has none yet, the notice "Set up hall" replaces the entire live view. Anyone allowed to edit the floor plan gets there directly via "Open floor plan editor"; on a phone and without edit rights, only a notice appears instead. How to start: Setting up the control room.
- Placed stations and slots with a type. Anything that exists only in the master data sits in storage and does not appear in the scene (Placing objects). Without a type, the scene shows a plain box (Types).
- A room of type "Office", a room of type "Break room" and a gate. The inbox sits at the office, people on break stand in the break room, and the shipping zone and the "No timer" zone are at the first gate. If these are missing, the zones move to fallback spots in the hall (Drawing the floor plan).
- A station or slot on every position. The location always comes from the position itself. The order's home station from the desk does not count in the control room. You enter the station on the position (Adding work steps).
- A scheduled order. An accepted offer only occupies anything once it has gone through "Schedule Order" (Scheduling an accepted offer). The inbox only shows released orders and orders in progress (Releasing an order).
- Position dates, ideally with a time. They produce the queue stacks, the "Start overdue" badge, the day bar and the planned state for "Later today" and "Tomorrow" (Choosing the point in time).
- A time estimate per position. Without one there is no actual/plan comparison and no "Over plan" badge; the card then says there is no target.
- Running timers and the time clock. A timer puts the person at their object and the workpiece on the machine (Task timer). Breaks and "clocked in, no timer" come from the time clock.
- A delivery date on the order. Only then does a finished order move to the shipping zone, and only then are there "Delivery due today" and "Delivery overdue" badges (Delivery date).
- People assigned if you look at "Later today" or "Tomorrow". There, figures only stand where someone is assigned to the position or the order.
- A sensible capacity ("Capacity" or "Spaces" in the master data). It determines "Free", "Tight" and "Full" as well as the weekly utilisation.
Not shown because …
| What is missing | Most common cause |
|---|---|
| The whole order | It is a draft, completed, cancelled or in the trash. The control room only shows orders with the status "Planned", "Released" or "In Progress". |
| Order neither at an object nor in the inbox | It is still "Planned", and its positions have no station. The inbox only takes released orders and orders in progress. |
| A single position | It is a milestone or a text, material or travel position. These do not occupy a place. |
| Position at an object in this hall | Its station is placed in another hall. Switch halls using the tabs at the top. |
| Workpiece on the machine | The position is neither "In Progress" nor is a timer running on it. |
| Stack in front of the machine | The position has no planned start before the end of the next working day, or it is already running. An accepted offer that has not gone through "Schedule Order" forms no stack. |
| Finished order in the shipping zone | The delivery date is missing, or the order is already completed. |
| A person's figure | They have no timer, and your role does not see people without a timer. Or the clock-in is older than 16 hours: it then counts as a forgotten clock-out and is not shown. Who sees whom is explained in People in the control room. |
| Figure stands at the inbox instead of the machine | The timer runs on a position without a station ("Timer without station"), on an object that is not in the floor plan ("Station/workplace not placed in the floor plan"), or on a station in the trash ("Station in trash"). |
| Object only in the list, not in the scene | It sits in storage. The list shows objects from storage in every hall; only placed ones are drawn. |
The empty-state notes in the list already name the next step, for example "Inbox empty — every released order has a station." What the colours and symbols mean is explained in Reading the live view.
