Lebenszyklus, Arbeitsschritte, Status und Material.

  1. The order lifecycle

Draft, Planned, Released, In Progress, Completed — what the five phases mean and which transitions happen on their own.

  2. Status & allowed transitions

Why an order currently cannot be canceled, completed or reset — the full transition table with roles and locks.

  3. Work steps: milestone and buffer

Two task settings with a big impact: the milestone marks a point in time instead of work, and the buffer creates room between the steps.

  4. Maintaining templates

Define recurring workflows once as a template: steps, default durations, stations, and sequences — managed centrally under Settings.

  5. Material per order

Record requirements, track withdrawals, see open quantities — the order's Material tab and its two withdrawal locks.

  6. Schedule & assign in one step

Set date, team and work location in one pass and release directly — the conclusion of the scheduling dialog, for quote-based and directly created orders alike.

  7. Canceling an order

Canceling is final — but Gantway cleans up as it does so: timers are saved and withdrawn material can go back into inventory. Here is exactly what happens.

  8. Duplicating an order

Start a proven order afresh as a copy — with all steps, dependencies and materials. What is carried over and what deliberately is not.

  9. Recalculating deadlines

Changed the start date or the planning mode? Gantway shows in advance what would shift — and you decide. What stays fixed and what moves.

  10. Order costing: pre- and post-costing

Plan versus actual: what should the order cost, what did it cost? The costing tab with freezing, versions and the premium post-costing.

  11. The trash

Deleted by mistake? Everything can be restored for 30 days. What really happens when you delete and when you bring something back.

  12. Comments on the order

Agreements where they belong: on the order. With @-mentions, tags for questions and blockers — and internal comments the workshop cannot see.

  13. The history: who did what and when?

Releases, status changes, material withdrawals — the History tab shows the order's most recent events. For Admins and Planners.

  14. Creating a maintenance contract

Set the interval, first due date, lead time and template — so the recurring order later appears on its own.

  15. How maintenance orders appear automatically

The daily run creates the order as a draft as soon as the lead time kicks in — what you see, who gets notified, and how to stop a contract.

  16. Is my order still on schedule?

The deadline banner on the order, the progress column in the list, the warning triangle on stalled steps — and the precise route via the baseline.
