The trash

Deleted by mistake? Everything can be restored for 30 days. What really happens when you delete and when you bring something back.

Deleting in Gantway is not a permanent way out: a deleted order moves to the trash and stays restorable there for 30 days. After that, Gantway cleans up automatically.

Deleting

The "Delete order" button sits in the order detail: in the sidebar go to Orders → open the order → in the status card below the status buttons. By default Admins, Planners and team leads may delete — team leads only for orders assigned to them. And only orders that are not completed or canceled: "Completed or canceled orders cannot be deleted." Those belong in the archive or stay on record.

If an order belongs to a quote that is still a draft or still open for the customer to accept, Gantway refuses the deletion and names the quote. You delete a draft quote via the quote itself; an open quote you first mark as rejected. Once the quote is rejected or expired, the order can be deleted.

Restoring

The trash sits at the bottom of the sidebar under Settings → "Trash" and catches not only orders, but nine types of data. Admins and Planners may restore; only the Admin may "Delete permanently" and "Empty trash". After a restore, Gantway recalculates the order's conflicts.

Distinction: The trash is for mistakes. A real but failed order is canceled; a finished one sits in the archive. Three places, three meanings.

Also known as: trash, deleted, restore, order gone, undo.
