Duplicating an order

For the second kitchen unit of the same type, nobody has to create all the steps again: Duplicate creates a fresh copy. The way there: in the sidebar go to Orders → in the list, open the three-dot menu at the end of the row → "Duplicate". Only Admin and Planner may do this; while duplicating you can directly choose a different customer and a new start date.

What the copy carries over

• All work steps including dependencies and time estimates
• Material line items — reset to "From stock" (even if the original had already been ordered or delivered: the copy starts from zero)
• Costing adjustments (price overrides)
• The dates are calculated from the original's duration plus the new start

The title gets the suffix "(Copy)", and the status follows from the date situation (with dates: Planned, otherwise Draft). If the new start falls on a non-working day or into a full resource, Gantway warns you right when creating it.

What deliberately does not come along

• The quote binding. Even the duplicate of a quote order is a normal production order without quote context — orders with quote context stay hidden until the quote is accepted, and the copy should appear in the order list immediately. Optional and alternative line items become regular ones in the process.
• Booked time, withdrawals, comments, history — those belong to the original.
