Material per order
Record requirements, track withdrawals, see open quantities — the order's Material tab and its two withdrawal locks.
What an order needs in materials, and what of it is already out, is shown on the order's "Material" tab (sidebar → Orders → open the order). Three columns tell the story: Requirement, Withdrawn, Open.
Recording a requirement
A material line item consists of an item and a quantity. Admin and Planner may create and change them; anyone adding the same item twice is stopped: "This item is already in the order." Increase the quantity of the existing line item instead.
Why a withdrawal can be blocked
Two checks must be green:
- The order must be released or in progress: "Withdrawal is only possible for released or running orders."
- The line item must be available, meaning status "From inventory" or "Delivered". For "To order" or "Ordered" it says: "Withdrawal not possible: material has not been delivered yet."

By the way, material line items never count as work steps. They appear neither in planning nor under "My work" as a task.
