The control room: your workshop as a floor plan and 3D scene
What the control room shows, its three views, who may do what and where to start setting it up.
This feature is only included in the Premium plan. Compare plans
In the control room you draw your workshop as a floor plan: halls, rooms, gates and where each machine, workbench or area stands. On top of this floor plan, the live view shows what is happening right now as a 3D scene: which order is at which station, who is working on what and where things are stuck.
You find it in the sidebar under "Control room", directly below "Desk". On a phone it is the first entry in the additional menu of the bottom bar.
Three views
At the top right you choose how to look at the hall:
- "Live" is the view that opens first. It shows the current state as a 3D scene and, if you like, the planned state for later today or tomorrow. What the colors and figures mean is explained in Reading the live view.
- "Floor plan" shows the drawn plan from above, for viewing only.
- "Edit" opens the editor where you draw rooms and place objects.
If you have several halls, switch between them with the hall tabs above the view, on a phone with a drop-down list. Every hall has its own floor plan, and an object always stands in at most one hall.
Who may do what
| Role | In the control room |
|---|---|
| Admin | view, edit, manage monitor links, see all people |
| Planner | view, edit, see all people |
| Team Lead | view, see colleagues with a timer or on a break |
| Employee, Purchasing/Warehouse | view, see only their own figure |
Which details about people each role sees is described in People in the control room.
Devices
- On a PC or tablet the live view shows the 3D scene, on a phone a list with the same information. You can switch at any time.
- "Edit" only works from tablet width upwards. On a phone the button is greyed out.
- For a TV in the workshop without a sign-in there is the hall monitor.
Plan
The control room is included in the Premium plan and in the trial. In other plans the menu entry shows a lock. It opens a preview with made-up sample data (note "Preview with sample data") headed "The control room is included in the Premium plan". Admins see the button "View the Premium plan", everyone else the note "Ask your admin to activate the Premium plan."
If you later move to a smaller plan: "Halls and placements stay saved and are back after an upgrade."
Not to be confused with the Cockpit
The Cockpit is a view mode of the dashboard with traffic-light cards and an attendance board, included in all plans. The control room, by contrast, is the floor plan of your workshop.
How to get started
- Setting up the control room: create your first hall, fastest with an industry template.
- Draw the floor plan and place stations and workplaces.
- If the hall stays empty in the live view, see Why is my hall empty?
