Showing the control room on the workshop TV
Create a monitor link, set up the device at the TV and understand the messages on screen — the hall monitor runs without a sign-in.
This feature is only included in the Premium plan. Compare plans
The hall monitor shows a hall on a TV in the workshop without anyone signing in there. Access is through a monitor link. Only the Admin can create and manage it.
Creating a monitor link
- Open Control room in the sidebar and click "Monitor" at the top right.
- Under "Monitor links", click "Add link" (the first time: "Add first link").
- Fill in the "Add monitor link" dialog:
- "Name", for example "TV Hall 1" (up to 60 characters).
- "Hall": a fixed hall or "All halls, rotating".
- "Rotation interval (seconds)" only appears when rotating: 15 to 120 seconds, the default is 30.
- "Display": "Scene" is the 3D scene as in the control room and needs a device with WebGL. "Monitor light" is the list view in large type, without 3D, for weaker devices.
- Click "Add". The "Link created" dialog shows the complete link.
- Copy it with the "Copy link" button next to the address.
Up to 20 monitor links are possible. If you need more, revoke an existing one first.
The device at the TV
The dialog describes the setup word for word: "Connect a device with a Chromium browser (mini PC, Chromium stick or Raspberry Pi) to the TV, set this link as its home page and open it once in full screen. Smart TV browsers are not supported."
After that, the monitor runs without any further action:
- It fetches new data every 15 seconds and always shows the current state ("Now"). The 3D scene there is always shown in its light version.
- Nothing can be operated at the TV; there is no selection and no camera control.
- The screen stays awake if the browser supports it. Every night at around 3 a.m. the page reloads once.
- The header shows the hall name, "As of" with the time, head counts such as "in the hall", "orders in progress", "without a place", deliveries today, overdue items and conflicts, plus a large clock. Below it are up to three upcoming deliveries, with the day only ("today", "tomorrow" or weekday) and never with a time. Overdue ones appear in red.
If the device is too weak for the 3D scene (fewer than 20 frames per second over 30 seconds) or WebGL is missing, the monitor switches to the list on its own. The TV then says: "This device is too weak for the 3D view — the page shows the list view." The link list shows "Device too weak – shows monitor light".
Managing links
Each link appears as a card in the list, with "Created", "Last opened" and "Last active". "Last active" tells you whether the TV is still fetching data.
| Button | Effect |
|---|---|
| "Edit" | Change name, hall, interval and display. The link itself stays the same. |
| "Regenerate" | The previous link becomes invalid immediately, and the new one is shown once. The new address has to be entered at the TV. |
| "Revoke" | The link becomes permanently invalid and cannot be restored. |
After "Regenerate" or "Revoke", the TV shows within 30 seconds that the link is no longer valid. If you suspect a link has fallen into the wrong hands, regenerate it. If the configured hall is deleted, the link shows all halls in rotation; the card then says "Hall deleted – now shows all halls".
Messages on the TV
| Message | Meaning |
|---|---|
| "No monitor link" | The part after "#" is missing from the address. Enter the full link. |
| "This monitor link is no longer valid" | The link was revoked or regenerated. The device needs the new link. |
| "Control room not included in this plan" | The plan does not currently include the control room. The monitor shows data again on its own once it is included. |
| Yellow band "No current data since …" | No response for two minutes, for example because of a network outage. The band disappears on its own as soon as data arrives again. |
| "This hall has no floor plan yet — the page shows the list view." | The hall has no saved floor plan yet (Drawing the floor plan). |
Which personal data the monitor shows (names, breaks, performance details) is set by the Admin in the same panel. The switches and their effect are described in People in the control room. If the hall stays empty on the TV, see Why is my hall empty?.
