Reading the live view: colors, labels, figures

What corner marks, workpieces, folder stacks, figures, zones and warnings mean in the 3D scene of the control room.

This feature is only included in the Premium plan. Compare plans

The live view shows your hall the way Gantway knows it from timers, the time clock, position status and dates. It only displays and changes nothing: you keep operating timers, status and assignments in My Work, in the order file or on the desk.

Color is never the only cue. Zoomed in, every label also names the state in words, and the List shows the same information as text.

The state of a station

The corner marks and floor glow of every station and workstation carry the state color, as does the signal light if the model has one.

StateColorMeaning
FreegreenNo workpiece is here right now.
BusyblueAt least one order is here.
TightyellowMore than 80% of the places are occupied.
FullorangeAll places are occupied (only with more than one place), or there are more orders than places.
ConflictredAn open conflict affects the object on the day shown, or a position running here.
Running unattendedpurpleA unit with lead time is running without anyone working at it.

Places are the capacity or parking spots from the master data. Several positions of the same order occupy only one place. If there are more orders than places at an object, it shows "Full" with the warning "Conflict".

Workpieces and stacks

  • Workpiece: a part in the order color, shaped as a panel on machines and plants, as a carcass on workstations and areas. It appears as soon as the position is "In progress" or a timer is running on it. You change the order color on the desk via "Color and home station".
  • Folder stack: the queue. It holds positions whose planned start falls before the end of the next working day and that have not started yet. The top folder is the next one; positions with "Start overdue" are at the front. From five folders on, the number is shown above the stack.
  • Cart with crates: at units with lead time, the queue stands as a cart.

The location comes from the station or workstation of the position, never from the order's home station.

Figures

VestMeaningLocation
blueworking, timer runningat the station of the position
greyon breakin the break room; with a timer also grey at the station
orangeclocked in, no timer"No timer" zone by the gate

The figure follows the "Salutation" in the employee profile; without one it is neutral. If a timer runs on a position without a station, the figure stands at the inbox. By default only admins and planners see orange figures; employees and purchasing/warehouse see only themselves, see People in the control room.

Zones and edge

  • Inbox (in the room of type "Office"): released orders and orders in progress with open positions without a station.
  • Shipping zone (by the first gate): orders whose work steps are all reported done and that have a delivery date. When the order is completed, it disappears.
  • Break room: the room of type "Break room". Without an office, the inbox sits in another room; without a break room, people on a break stand next to the inbox; without a gate, the shipping zone and "No timer" sit in a corner of the hall.
  • Field work (edge): running positions at "Field work / construction site" or "Service tour". The van only moves while a timer is running there.
  • Off-site (edge): positions at "Outsourced production". Once the planned end has passed, "Return overdue" appears in red.

Warnings

Each station shows its most important warning, in this order:

WarningColorMeaning
Conflictredopen, unacknowledged conflict, or more orders than places
Start overdueredThe planned start has passed, but the position has not started.
Over planredActual time exceeds the time estimate (only with an estimate).
Delivery overdueredThe delivery date is before the day shown.
Delivery due todayyellowThe delivery date is the day shown.
Missing partyellowMaterial for the order is missing according to the conflict check.
Checkyellowon people: a second timer of the same person, or a timer running past the auto-stop threshold (default 12 hours)

In the overall view, a person with "Check" only carries a mark with an eye symbol, an overdue "Off-site" a mark with a clock.

Labels and motion

In the overall view, every station carries a small plaque: a dot (red or yellow for a warning, green while work is running, grey when free) and a bar of actual against plan, which is missing without a time estimate. Zoomed in further, the label reads "Name · State" if there is a warning; close up it also shows order, position, person, actual and planned time and what comes next.

Motion shows state: machines only run while a timer is running (units with lead time also during their planned run), and a workpiece moves over from the station of the previous step. With "Reduce motion" set in the operating system, the scene stays still. How to operate camera, selection and info view is described in Operating the 3D scene.
