Cover page and appendix in the quote PDF

Two ready-made PDF pages — a cover page from your designer, the terms and conditions from your lawyer — are stored under Settings → "Documents", right at the bottom in the "Deckblatt & Anhang" (cover page & appendix) section. The page is reserved for administrators. From then on Gantway attaches both files unchanged to every quote PDF: the cover page as the first sheet, the appendix at the back.

The two cards

• "Deckblatt" (cover page) — PDF, exactly 1 page, up to 5.0 MB.
• "Anhang (z. B. AGB)" (appendix, e.g. terms and conditions) — PDF, up to 15 pages, up to 2.0 MB.

Drag the file onto the field or click it. Gantway reports "Datei wird geprüft…" (checking the file) and attaches the page to a quote once as a trial run before accepting it — which is why it takes a moment. The card then shows the file name, size, page count and page format, plus a preview. "Ersetzen" (replace) swaps the file, "Entfernen" (remove) takes it out.

No footer, no page number

The cover page and appendix are only attached after the footer and page number have been stamped onto the quote. Both therefore stay untouched — and so does the quote's own page count: a one-page quote with a cover page and three pages of terms comes to five sheets, and the quote sheet still reads "Seite 1 von 1" (page 1 of 1).

What is rejected — and what only warns

A file is turned away if it is not a PDF, if it is password-protected or damaged, if it has too many pages or is too large. Gantway names the reason in plain language ("Das Deckblatt darf nur eine Seite haben …" — the cover page may only have one page); your previous file stays active in that case.

Three things only warn and do not block:

• The page format differs from A4 portrait (210 × 297 mm) — the page is scaled to A4 when printed.
• A cover page of 2 MB or more — it enlarges every single quote PDF by that amount.
• An appendix that is unusually large for its page count — probably a scan. A directly generated PDF stays sharper, is considerably smaller and remains searchable.

Quotes already sent no longer change

When you send a quote, Gantway records which versions applied. If you swap the cover page later or remove it, quotes already sent keep their version — in the download as well as in the preview on the quote. For every quote not yet sent the new file applies immediately, including drafts created earlier.
