Adding line items
Every line item is also a work step — that's the most important quirk of the quoting system. Line item types, fields, and the qualification requirement.
The most important thing first, because it explains everything else: in Gantway an offer position is also a work step. What you offer the customer is the same thing your workshop works through later — one source, no double maintenance.
How to enter a position
- Open Offers in the sidebar and click the offer.
- Go to the "Angebotspositionen" (offer positions) card.
- Click "Add Position". On an offer that is still empty, the button reads "Add First Position".
- Fill in the fields: "Angebotstext" (customer-facing text, overriding the internal title), "Menge" (quantity), "Einheit" (unit), "Einzelpreis" (unit price) and, if needed, "Positions-Rabatt" (line discount).
- Choose the position type — the types are listed below.
Drag-and-drop sorting works while the offer is still a draft. By default admin, planner and team lead may create and change positions, because they are work steps; the offer texts and the overall discount are open only to admin and planner.
What the customer should not see
Every work step has the "Ins Angebot aufnehmen" (include in offer) switch. Turn it off and the step moves under "Interne Tasks (nicht im Angebot)" (internal tasks, not in the offer). The customer never sees it, but it still counts towards your calculation.
The position types
- "Regulär" (regular) — counts towards the total
- "Optional" — is offered but does not count towards the total; the customer decides on acceptance
- "Alternativ" (alternative) — one variant instead of another position
- "Textzeile" (text line) — a heading only, no price; structures long offers
- Material — runs through its own dialog, see Material position from stock
- Anfahrt (travel) — also runs through its own dialog, see Travel flat rate by distance

Qualification requirements
If a position needs particular people — "1× master + 2× journeyman", say — you record that via "Bedarf hinzufügen" (add requirement) with the fields "Qualifikation" and "Anzahl" (count). Scheduling with the traffic light later uses this to check whether your team can manage the date.
