CSV import: bringing data over from your old system
Five data types in three steps: upload the file, check the preview, confirm. What happens with duplicates and error rows.
Under Settings → "Import/Export", tab "Import", Gantway takes over existing data from Excel or your old system — only the Admin may run it.
Five data types
You can import employees, articles, workstations, stations and customers. For each type there is "Download template with sample data" — the safest start, because: "Only the mandatory columns need to be filled in." Details on the columns of individual types are in the specialized articles (articles, customers).
The file rules: "Max. 5 MB, UTF-8, separator: comma or semicolon" — German number and date formats are understood.
The three-step process
- Upload — choose the file.
- Preview — Gantway counts: "Valid", "Duplicates (will be skipped)", "Faulty (will be skipped)". Nothing is written, the preview is safe. Above 1,000 rows a note appears that it may take a moment.
- Result — only the confirmation applies the valid rows.
