Creating master data
A single workstation or station is enough to complete this step. Which fields are required and why planning needs these resources.
Master data are the resources onto which Gantway later schedules your work steps. A single slot or a single station is enough for this step to count as done and for you to move on.
By default, admin and planner may create and edit here.
How to create a slot
- Open Settings → "Master Data", tab "Slots". From the setup checklist the step takes you straight there; otherwise you reach the settings at the bottom of the sidebar.
- Click "Add slot".
- Enter a "Name" (at least 2 characters; the field suggests "e.g. Hall A, Bay 1") and set "Capacity (concurrent orders)" to at least 1.
- Click "Save". Gantway confirms: "Slot created successfully." The slot then appears in the list.
How to create a station
The route is the same, just in the "Stations" tab: button "Add station", then "Name" (suggestion "e.g. CNC mill, paint booth") and "Capacity (concurrent tasks)", then "Save".
As long as nothing has been created, the tab reports "No slots yet." or "No stations yet." respectively. If you mistype something, "Edit slot" reopens the entry.
