Creating your first order

For your first order the checklist takes you into the guided assistant. It is called "Create New Order" and has exactly two steps: the customer first, then the order details.

How to create your first order

1. Start the assistant. From the checklist this happens directly; otherwise use the "New Order (guided)" button at the top of the dashboard, or sidebar → Orders → arrow next to "New Order" → "Guided creation".
2. Step "Customer": pick an existing customer or create a new one right here. The customer is required — without a selection the assistant reports "Please select a customer first."
3. Step "Order": enter the order details. The title may be up to 200 characters long.
4. Click "Create Order". Gantway confirms: "Order created successfully."

The order then sits as a draft. By default admin and planner may create orders.

The quicker route for later

Alongside the assistant there is a "New Order" button everywhere. There the customer is optional — handy for internal orders, or when the client has not been settled yet. For everyday work that is the quicker route; the assistant is the guided variant for the start.
