Planning an order on the desk

The Digital Desk (sidebar → Desk) is Gantway's planning board: here your orders sit in columns and rows, you move them via drag & drop, assign employees and dates — and conflicts are detected and marked automatically.

What this step wants

It takes you there for the first time. The check mark appears as soon as you open the page — the checklist checks the visit, not a particular action. You're meant to know the place where planners work every day; what you can do there in detail has its own help category.

What's worth doing on your first visit

• Drag your order to another day and watch how Gantway pulls the dates of the work steps along.
• Watch for markers: if something collides — two orders on the same resource, an employee double-booked — Gantway shows it immediately, instead of surprising you later in the workshop.

Everything else — configuring columns and swimlanes, filters, templates — you'll find in the Digital Desk category. All roles can see the board; by default admin, planner and team lead may move and schedule on it.
