Forgotten timer

The timer ran all night? Gantway stops it automatically, caps the time at the threshold, and flags the entry for review.

Friday afternoon, end of the day, the timer keeps running — Monday morning the order would show 60 hours. Gantway has a safeguard against this.

What happens automatically

Every night the system stops all timers that have been running longer than the configured threshold — default: 12 hours. The entry is not discarded but instead:

  • capped at the threshold — 60 hours become 12, not 0,
  • flagged for review, so it stands out in post-costing,
  • commented: "Timer (stopped automatically after {n}h, capped at {m}h): please check the duration."

Only whoever was there knows the real duration — so a person decides afterward: adjust the time or leave it.

Setting the threshold

Only the Admin may set it — under Settings → "Working Time Model" in the "Timer settings" card: "Automatically stop timer after (hours)", selectable between 1 and 24. A business with 8-hour days is better served by a lower threshold than the default — the closer to the actual shift length, the less manual work afterward.

Independently of this, a hard upper limit applies: No timer entry can be longer than 24 hours.

Auch bekannt als: Timer forgotten, Timer still running, stopped automatically, ran overnight, wrong time.
