The "To-buy List" in the inventory (sidebar → Inventory → "To-buy List" tab) answers one question: what isn't enough? It isn't a maintained list, but is calculated live on every call — there's nothing to enter and nothing to forget.
The calculation behind it
For each item, the following applies: shortage = total demand of all orders − stock (never below zero). Into the total demand flows the open material demand of all orders in the status Planned, Released and In progress — drafts and completed items don't count. Only items with a shortage greater than zero appear.
Working with the list
- "Needed by" shows the earliest date on which an order needs the item — sortable "By shortage" or "By due date".
- The drilldown per item lists the orders with their "Open Qty" and the procurement status per item: To order → Ordered → Delivered. The status is maintained by hand, by default by admin, planner and purchasing/inventory — Gantway triggers no orders.
- CSV export for the order by email or in the supplier shop.
By default the list may be seen by all roles except employee.
