A wrong stock booking is not deleted, it is reversed. The route runs through the article's movement history.
How to reverse a booking
- Open Inventory in the sidebar, tab "Articles".
- Click the clock icon in the article's row. The "Movement History" opens.
- Click "Reverse booking" on the wrong entry. The dialog explains: "The booking will be reversed by a counter-entry. Please state a reason."
- Enter the "Reason (required)" (at least 3 characters) — the field asks: "Why is this booking being reversed?"
- Click "Reverse". Gantway confirms: "Booking reversed successfully."
What the reversal does
Gantway creates a counter-entry with the opposite quantity: +10 becomes −10. Both stay in the history:
- the original, struck through and with the status "Reversed",
- the new line with the marker "Reversal entry" and the reason.
The stock level is right again afterwards, and the original posting stays in the history. Everyone can see what was booked and that it was taken back.
Limits
- Reversing twice does not work: "This booking has already been reversed."
- Counter-entries themselves cannot be reversed. If the reversal was itself a mistake, the original movement is simply booked again.
How this differs from a correction: a reversal takes back one particular booking. A correction evens out a difference whose cause is not a single booking — a miscount, shrinkage.
