Applying templates to an order
Create recurring work steps once as a template, then apply them with a click. The two ways — and why applying twice creates duplicate tasks.
If your orders often follow the same workflow — cutting, assembly, final inspection — you create the steps once as a template and then apply them with a click. You maintain the templates themselves under Settings → "Workflow Templates" (sidebar bottom → Settings). How that works is described in the article Maintaining templates.
Two ways to apply
- In quick entry on the desk: sidebar → Desk → expand the order folder → the small "Template" button right where you add work steps.
- In the order detail: sidebar → Orders → open the order → "Tasks" tab → the "Apply template" button, then choose the template in the "Select template" field.
Both end with the message "Template applied successfully." — the work steps of the template are now attached to the order. By default Admins, Planners and team leads may apply them; on the desk only Admins and Planners.
Appended, not replaced
A template adds to the existing work steps; it clears nothing away. This is intentional: you can assemble an order from several templates.
