How absences affect planning

When an absence actually affects planning, what happens to the affected orders — and how sick leave during vacation is credited back.

A vacation request alone changes nothing in planning. The effect begins at a clear switching point.

When an absence "counts"

Entries with the status Approved and Recorded affect planning, and only those. A request with the status "Requested" does not block anything yet; only approval arms the absence. An entry with the status "Cancellation requested" still ties up the allowance, but no longer counts as an absence in planning.

When an immediately effective absence is recorded, such as today's sick notice, Gantway checks right away whether the person is scheduled during that period. The warning lists the affected items and ends with "Please reschedule or reassign." It does not block anything, but it names the trouble spots.

Conflicts in planning

With every planning change, Gantway generates the conflict "Employee absent" for overlapping assignments, along with suggested solutions such as replacing them with an available colleague.

Sick leave overrides vacation

If someone falls ill during vacation and the sick leave is recorded for those days, it overrides the vacation. The affected vacation days are automatically credited back to the allowance, as vacation law requires.
