Public holidays: automatic from the state
Gantway calculates public holidays from the state your business is in — extendable, deactivatable and with a preview. Without a state, there are none.
Nobody has to maintain public holidays by hand in Gantway: they are calculated automatically from the state stored in the sidebar at the very bottom under Settings → "Working Time Model" in the "Federal state" card, including the movable ones like Easter and Corpus Christi, correct for each state.
Adjusting in the work calendar
- "Add holiday" adds your own dates, such as a regional festival or a religious holiday that is not statutory.
- "Deactivated holidays": if work is done on a holiday as an exception, it can be switched off; it then counts as a normal working day.
- The "Holiday preview" shows which dates are in effect over the year. The quickest check after setup.
Only the Admin may change the work calendar; the Planner sees the page but cannot save there.
Effect
An active holiday is not a working day: no target in time tracking, no capacity in planning, no consumption of vacation. The working-day counts (request preview, conflict severity levels) skip it as well.
