Switching plans: upgrade and downgrade

Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing, downgrades at the end of the period — with a cost preview, warning list, and the option to cancel.

An upgrade applies immediately, a downgrade at the end of the period. Only the admin can switch.

This dialog of the app is not translated; the labels below are quoted in German with the meaning in brackets.

How to switch plans

  1. Open Settings → "Mein Plan" (my plan, section "Erweiterungen").
  2. Go to the "Pläne vergleichen" (compare plans) card. Each target plan shows either "Upgrade" or "Downgrade".
  3. Click the matching button. The dialog is titled "Plan upgraden — {plan}" or "Plan herabstufen — {plan}".
  4. Check the preview and confirm with "Jetzt upgraden" (upgrade now) or "Downgrade planen" (schedule downgrade).

Upgrade: immediately

An upgrade applies at once. The dialog first shows a cost preview with the total "Jetzt fällig (inkl. MwSt.)" (due now, incl. VAT) — the pro-rata amount for the rest of the current billing period. With "Jetzt upgraden" the new features are available immediately.

Downgrade: at the end of the period

A downgrade takes effect at the end of the current billing period: "Der Downgrade wird zum Ende des laufenden Abrechnungszeitraums am {date} wirksam. Bis dahin behalten Sie Ihren aktuellen Funktionsumfang." (the downgrade takes effect at the end of the current billing period on {date}; until then you keep your current feature set). Under "Nach dem Downgrade nicht mehr verfügbar:" (no longer available after the downgrade) the dialog lists what falls away. Worth a look before clicking "Downgrade planen".

A scheduled switch then shows as the marker "Wechsel geplant" (switch scheduled) and can be cancelled up to the cut-off date.

Out altogether rather than down? That runs via cancellation.
