Team dock: reading utilization

Who still has room? The team dock beneath the Gantt shows utilization — with a color logic that deliberately differs from the scheduling dialog.

The team dock sits beneath the desk Gantt — in the sidebar go to Desk → toggle "Project Overview" — and answers a single question: who or what still has room? It shows utilization as bars over the timeline.

Modes and perspectives

The dock has two modes:

  • All — utilization across all orders. This is the view for dispatching.
  • Order — only the currently open order.

Plus three perspectives you can switch between: Employees, Stations and Workstations. The same week can be relaxed for people and full at the router — which is why switching is worthwhile.

The color logic: different per perspective

This is where the most common mix-up occurs.

For orientation, use the capacity line at 100% instead. A bar that extends beyond it is overload — and turns red. The label beneath names the average, for example "Ø 85% utilization".

What employees see

Employees see the dock read-only. They can therefore view their team's utilization, but cannot assign anyone by dragging or move deadlines.

Utilization is not a ban

A red bar stops you from nothing. If you assign a work step to someone despite overload, Gantway asks from 90% weekly utilization with "Confirm overload" — and carries out the assignment if you confirm. The decision stays with you; the dock merely makes it visible.

Auch bekannt als: utilization, capacity, who has time, overload, skyline, dock, who still has room, who is fully booked.
