Adjusting the Gantt view
Fold the past, compress working hours, mini-map and WBS numbers: the display options in the View menu — and what's on by default.
You reach the Gantt in two places: in the sidebar go to Desk → toggle "Project Overview" (many orders), or Orders → open the order → tab "Tasks" → button "Open Gantt view" (one order). In both, the Gantt's "View" menu holds the "Display options" section with four switches that determine how much of the chart fits on the screen. The menu stays open when you click, so several switches can be changed in one go.
The four options
- "Fold the past" collapses elapsed periods into a narrow strip; the view starts at today. The switch is on by default. If you are wondering why "time is missing" on the left, turn it off.
- "Compress working hours" shrinks nights and non-working times together, giving the working time the space.
- "Mini-map" shows the scaled-down overall overview for jumping quickly across long periods.
- "WBS numbering" puts hierarchical numbers (1, 1.1, 2.3) into a separate table column, likewise on by default. Handy for referring unambiguously to "step 2.3" on the phone.
