Setting up two-factor authentication
An additional code from the authenticator app protects the account. Found under Settings → "Security": setting it up via QR code, deactivating it again — and the important thing about the secret.
The "Two-factor authentication" card sits under Settings → "Security" (every role sees this entry) — "Manage two-factor authentication and passkeys for your account." It adds a second verification step to signing in and protects your account that way. Below it on the same page is the "Passkeys" card as the password-free alternative.
Setting up
- Click "Enable MFA" — Gantway shows a QR code.
- Scan the code with an authenticator app (the app cites Google Authenticator or Authy as examples; any TOTP app works). If scanning doesn't work, there is the "Manual entry" of the displayed secret.
- Enter the 6-digit code from the app and click "Confirm" — done: "Two-factor authentication has been enabled."
From now on, Gantway asks for the code at sign-in and at password reset. The card shows the green status "Two-factor authentication is active." along with the setup date.
Deactivating
The "Deactivate" button removes 2FA ("Two-factor authentication has been disabled."). The action is logged as a security event — viewable in the audit log (Premium plan).
