Your own profile: what you can change yourself
Display name, language, and appearance are yours to change — email address and role deliberately are not. Why that is, and who can help.
Everyone manages their own account under Settings → "Profile". Every role sees this entry.
What you can change yourself
- "Display name" is how you appear in assignments, comments and logs; saved with "Save profile".
- "Language": German or English.
- "Appearance": Light, Dark or System, plus the "Show light/dark switch in the navigation bar" toggle.
The profile also holds your password and the privacy card with data access request and account deletion. Two-factor authentication lives one menu entry further along: Settings → "Security", together with passkeys.
Deliberately not changeable by you
- Email address: the field is read-only. The email is the anchor of the account; if it needs to change, the admin (via a new invitation) or support can help.
- Role: shown only as a badge. Roles are assigned by the admin under Settings → "Accounts & Access"; upgrading your own role yourself is, for good reason, not possible.
