Changing your password — and resetting it when forgotten

While logged in, the change runs in your profile; when locked out, the reset link by email helps — with an extra step for 2FA users.

Logged in: change in your profile

Under Settings → "Profile" sits the "Change password" card with three fields: "Current password", "New password" and "Confirm password". The current one confirms it is really you; on a wrong entry you get "The current password is not correct." The same rules apply to the new one as when resetting, namely 10 to 128 characters with uppercase and lowercase letters plus a digit. Then Gantway reports "Password changed successfully."

If you sign in via Google, you will not see the card, because OAuth accounts have no Gantway password.

Locked out: reset by email

On the sign-in page, "Forgot password?" leads to the "Reset password" page: enter your email address, "Send reset link". The response is always the same: "If an account with this email address exists, we have just sent you a link to reset it. Please also check your spam folder." So it does not reveal whether an address is registered.

The link in the email opens "Set a new password". The same rules apply as above, and the new password must differ from the previous one. After saving, you are signed in directly.

If the link doesn't work: reset links are valid only once and for a limited time. On "Link invalid", get a fresh one via "Request a new link". The requests are limited (among other things, 3 per hour per email address); if no email arrives, check the spam folder first.
