The conflict diagnosis: why is this a problem?
The resolve dialog shows live what is colliding — as a timeline, a stock calculation or a staffing overview, depending on the conflict type.

Before Gantway resolves a conflict, it shows what exactly is colliding. Every entry in the Conflicts list carries a "Resolve" button for that, visible by default to admins, planners and team leads. It opens the resolve dialog, and that starts with the diagnosis.
Calculated live
The diagnosis is calculated fresh when opened, not preserved from the moment the conflict arose. If the problem has since resolved itself, because someone rescheduled or material arrived, the dialog says so honestly: "This conflict no longer exists."
Four representations, depending on the conflict type
- Timeline for absence and double booking: the colliding periods stacked, with the note "N working days of overlap."
- Stock calculation for a material shortage: Open demand, Stock and the resulting shortfall.
- Staffing overview for a missing qualification: which requirement is not met, plus "Available alternatives", meaning colleagues who have the qualification.
- Text diagnosis for workstation and station overbooking as well as violated dependencies: the conflict's descriptive sentence, naming the day, resource and utilization (e.g. "… is overbooked by 1 on … (3/2).").
